Two completely different things get called "Twitter search history", and people searching this phrase are usually after one of them without realising the other exists.
1. Your recent searches — the dropdown of terms you've typed, shown when you tap the search box. This is what clearing removes, and it's what this article is mostly about.
2. Your posting history — the posts you've written over the years. Clearing search history does nothing to these. If that's what you're after, see finding and archiving old posts.

Clearing recent searches
On mobile:
- Tap the search box

To remove just one: tap the ✕ next to that individual entry rather than clearing everything.
That's the whole operation. It's local to your account's convenience list, and it takes effect immediately.
What clearing actually does and doesn't do
This is the part worth understanding, because the name promises more than the feature delivers.
