Before installing a checker, one fact settles what any of them can actually tell you:
★X has no public shadowban status. There is no endpoint, no setting, and no notification.★ Every "shadowban checker" — including the good ones — is running visibility tests and inferring from the results. That inference is often reasonable. It is never authoritative.

What "shadowban" actually refers to
The word covers several different behaviours, and they have different symptoms:

X's own framing is "visibility filtering" — they acknowledge reducing the reach of content in some circumstances, without publishing who or when. That gap between "it happens" and "you're never told" is what the entire checker industry exists in.
What you can query is public visibility — whether a post is findable, and what engagement it's actually getting. That's public data, unlike any internal status.
Test it yourself in four steps
These are the same tests any checker runs. Doing them by hand takes five minutes and you'll understand what the result means.
Step 1 — Log out
Open a private window and go to x.com/yourhandle.
Profile loads normally? You're not suspended or deactivated, and non-followers can see you. Profile missing? That's a different and bigger problem — see telling deletion apart from blocking.
Step 2 — Search for your own exact text
Take a distinctive sentence from a recent post. Search it in quotes, logged out:

Found? ★Not search-suppressed.★ Not found? Try again in a few hours before concluding anything — search indexing is uneven and results vary between runs.
Step 3 — Search with from:

If from: returns your posts but the plain phrase search didn't, ★that points at ranking rather than suppression★ — you're in the index, just not surfacing.
Step 4 — Check a reply from a second account
Post a reply on a busy thread, then view that thread from a logged-out window.
Reply visible? Not reply-deranked. Hidden behind "Show more replies"? ⚠️ That's normal for most replies on busy threads — it is not by itself evidence of anything. Only worry if it's consistent across threads where you'd previously appeared normally.
The four things people mistake for a shadowban
★Most "I've been shadowbanned" cases are one of these.★ Check them before anything else.
1. Normal algorithmic variance. Reach fluctuates enormously post to post. A few weak posts is the base rate, not a signal. Compare a 7-day rolling median against last month, not yesterday against today — why rolling windows matter.
2. You changed what you post. Format, topic, posting time, link inclusion. Any of these shifts reach, and the change usually predates the drop by a week or two.
3. Your audience changed. A bot follower purge removes accounts that were never seeing your posts anyway. Follower count drops, real reach doesn't — but the ratio looks alarming.
4. Individual mutes and blocks. Enough people muting you produces a real reach drop with no platform action involved. Undetectable, and not a shadowban.
⚠️ ★The diagnostic that separates these from actual suppression: platform suppression shows up as findability failing (step 2), not just numbers falling.★ If your posts are still findable in search, low reach is almost certainly one of the four above.
Measuring it instead of guessing
A single check tells you little because you have no baseline. What tells you something is the same measurement over time.

★Rate against followers, not raw views.★ (Both numbers — views per post and follower count — come from two calls.) Raw views fall when you post less or post differently. Views-per-follower isolates "am I reaching my own audience", which is the thing suppression actually affects.
How to read a series: a sustained drop of more than half in views-per-follower, lasting over a week, while posting frequency and format held steady — that's worth investigating. ⚠️ Anything shorter is noise, and acting on noise leads people to change things that were working.
If you conclude something is wrong
Wait. Most visibility restrictions are temporary and lift on their own. Days to weeks is typical.
Stop anything automation-shaped. Bulk following, repetitive posting, aggressive replying — these are the behaviours most associated with reduced reach. Tools with write access to your account can be doing this without your realising.
Check for rule violations. Sometimes there's a notice in your account settings you haven't seen.
Post normally. Advice to "post more to recover" is backwards — unusual bursts look like exactly the behaviour that triggers restrictions.
